The Knights of Malta owned St Croix ca 1650.
Their Governor du Bois built a castle there.
Where was the castle?
Here is what I found.

note drawing of castle with two towers at each end (under the M. in M. de Bois)---wall in front.
This map is upside down, so the castle faces north.

Here is the location of the castle per GEOGRAPHIC DICTIONARY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS
OF THE UNITED STATES by James William McGuire, 1925:

There is a large new home recently constructed there that has an entrance at 306A Ginger Thomas Rd, Judith's Fancy.
The property has spectacular views of both Christiansted harbor (to the east) and Salt River (to the west).

Here are 2 views from Judith's Fancy looking at the east side of property (facing Christiansted harbor):

Here is the west side of the property as seen from Salt River:

Nicholas Tuite ancestor's (from Ireland family--see 12/17/13 data) were involved with Knights Templars that captured
England/Ireland/Crusades---was Tuite ca 1750 inspired to move to St Croix due to the Knights of Malta ca 1650 connection?
Did he name his property Sion Hill (ancester George Beale worked there) after Jerusalem's Mount Zion or the Order of Sion?

NEW FINDING---CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS FLYING UNDER FLAG OF TEMPLAR CROSS WHEN
HE LANDED AT SALT RIVER, ST CROIX in 1493.
"MILITARY ORDER OF CHRIST Order of the Knights of Our Lord Jesus Christ A crusading order created on March 14th, 1319 by Pope John XXII in the Bull "Ad ea ex Quibus". It inherited all lands and holdings of the Templars in Portugal....the Order of Christ...a maritime organization of some importance...with many noteworthy explorers such as Vasco da Gama and Christopher Columbus sailing under the flag of the Templar Cross." DNA #17, p.176

Were the Knights of Malta inspired to move to St Croix ca 1650 due to the Christopher Columbus 1493 landing ?
Both were in the Salt River area.
